Vice President, Engineering, Global CapEx (Project Management)
The Vice President of Engineering – Global CapEx will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, execution, and management of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across a globally recognized $7 billion food manufacturing company. This position is primarily focused on managing and executing the end-to-end capital investment process, ensuring that key projects are executed on time, within budget, and aligned with the company's strategic growth, efficiency, and sustainability objectives. The VP of Engineering will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to plan, prioritize, and manage capital investments, facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements worldwide.
This position is located at our Home Office in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Relocation benefits are offered, in addition to a $10,000 relocation bonus, if relocating more than 50 miles for the position.

What you'll do:
Global Capital Investment Strategy, Planning and Budgeting:
• Develop, manage and execute a comprehensive global capital investment strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and long-term financial objectives.
• Leads the planning, prioritization, and budgeting of capital expenditures focusing on plant expansions, new facility designs, equipment upgrades, and major infrastructure improvements.
• Develop and execute a global capex engineering strategy that focuses on operational efficiency, product quality, and great partner experiences.
• Identify and manage risks associated with capital investments, including operational disruptions, regulatory challenges, supply chain issues, and cost overruns to ensure project delivery targets are met.
• Collaborate internally and externally to ensure that capital projects are well-integrated with operational goals and business needs.
• Oversee the integration of sustainable practices into the design and execution of capital projects with consideration for energy efficiency standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage engineering aspects related to scaling operations in new markets, including designing new facilities, adapting existing plants for new product lines, and overseeing major site upgrades to meet demand.
Project Execution & Oversight:
• Execute capital projects across multiple geographies meeting delivery time, scope and budget.
• Monitor and resolve any issues that could impact project timelines or financials.
• Develop and monitor project KPI's to ensure flawless delivery and hand-offs to our manufacturing facilities.
• Identify and manage risks that impact project delivery.
• Collaborate with others to ensure projects are well integrated with operational goals and business needs.

• Oversee contractor selection, negotiations, and performance management.
• Oversee financial tracking and reporting for all capital engineering projects with strict adherence to budgets and timelines.
• Provide regular updates to the executive team on project status, budget variances, and ROI projections.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in the capital investment and execution process. Drive efficiency in project execution using advanced project management tools, KPI's, lean methodologies, and best practices.
• Oversee a portfolio of capital projects across various geographies, manufacturing facilities, and technical teams, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term strategic investments.
• Manage engineering aspects related to scaling operations in new markets, including designing new facilities, adapting existing plants for new product lines, and overseeing major site upgrades to meet demand.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of engineering professionals, including senior engineering managers, project managers, and project engineers.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, professional development, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure strong pipeline development and succession planning processes.
• Identify and manage risks that will impact project delivery and team performance.
• Collaborate with others internally and externally to ensure projects are well-integrated with operational goals and business needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure high-quality execution of capital projects.
• Oversee contractor selection, negotiations, and performance management.
• Drive efficiency in project execution using advanced project management tools, KPI's, lean methodologies, and best practices.
• Drive technological innovation within the manufacturing and engineering space including automation, digitalization, and emerging technologies.
Supplier & Contract Management
• Identify and manage risks associated with capital investments, including operational disruptions, regulatory challenges, supply chain issues, and cost overruns to ensure project delivery targets are met.
• Collaborate with external vendors to ensure projects are well-integrated with operational goals and business needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure high-quality execution of capital projects.
• Oversee contractor selection, negotiations, and performance management.
• Manage engineering aspects related to scaling operations in new markets, including designing new facilities, adapting existing plants for new product lines, and overseeing major site upgrades to meet demand.
• Drive technological innovation within the manufacturing and engineering space including automation, digitalization, and emerging technologies.
Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establishes and Audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met, and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related fields). Master's degree in engineering or MBA is preferred.
• 15+ years experience in Engineering and Manufacturing leadership with a focus on capital investment management, facility design, automation and large-scale infrastructure projects within a large-scale, high-volume production environment (preferably in the food manufacturing industry or similarly regulated, high-volume industries).
• 7-10 years in senior leadership roles managing CapEx projects, preferably in the food manufacturing industry or similarly regulated, high-volume sectors.
• Demonstrated success in managing multi-million-dollar capital expenditure projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and working with external contractors and vendors to deliver complex projects with a continuous, results driven mindset.
• Strong financial and project management skills with a focus on capital investment optimization.
• Expertise in cost-benefit analysis, ROI assessments, and value engineering.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and plant infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of global regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the food industry.
• Experience with sustainability initiatives and integrating energy-efficient technologies into CapEx projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, finance teams, and external stakeholders.
• High proficiency in project management tools and methodologies including MS Project or similar systems.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within and outside the U.S.
