Job Overview: We are currently seeking a Production Technician for our Hydrogen & Nitrogen Production Facility located in Butte, MT. This position is a day shift position with on-call responsibility on a 24/7 basis as required for plant reliability and will report to the Plant Manager. Essential Functions Include: - Learn all aspects of the Hydrogen production including but not limited to Steam Methane Reformer unit operation and PSA Process with the goal of being able to troubleshoot any deviations that may risk reliability or efficiency of the plant - Learn all aspects of the Nitrogen production including cold box & liquefier operation - Learn and operate computer control system for the plant - Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment manuals and company procedures - Monitor process performance and proactively make appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations and align to the specified norm. - Operate units to continuously supply products as specified by contractual agreement, safely and economically, complying with all environmental regulations and daily customer requirements. - Perform inspections of equipment and daily preventative maintenance tasks as required - Safely troubleshoot, maintain, and assist in the repair of mechanical systems including valves, piping, pumps, fans, motors, etc. - Perform lock-out tag-out, correctly and safely permit maintenance work, and oversee contractors as necessary. Responsibilities/duties are typically focused but non-routine at this level. This position will also require working outdoors in various weather conditions and working occasional non-standard shifts including any required call-ins due to abnormal operational conditions such as unplanned shutdowns. Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required. - 2 or more years Production Operations experience preferred. - Strong interest in and experience with electrical and mechanical systems. - Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft applications). - Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, meters, instrument calibration equipment etc. - Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems and motors. - Must be able to climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs., and work at heights.
