General Counsel - Litigation & Corporate Defense (Legal)
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled litigator with extensive civil trial experience who thrives in high-stakes litigation and is committed to protecting the firm's interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Defend the firm and its owner in lawsuits, including employment claims and other civil litigation.Prosecute lawsuits on behalf of the firm, including cases involving discrimination, defamation, malicious prosecution, and other tort claims.Litigate employment disputes, including defending wrongful termination and discrimination claims.Manage litigation against individuals or entities that harm the firm or its owner.Act as the firm's general legal counsel, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.Develop strategies to mitigate legal risks to the firm.Oversee additional legal staff as the department grows.
Qualifications & Experience:
Licensed to practice law in Tennessee, with willingness to obtain and maintain licenses in Mississippi and Arkansas.Minimum of 7 years of civil litigation experience, including significant jury trial experience.Extensive experience in employment law litigation, including defending claims.Proven ability to handle high-stakes litigation independently.Strong legal research, writing, and trial advocacy skills.Ability to work independently and make strategic litigation decisions.
