Facility Maintenance Tech - Covington, GA (Maintenance)
Must have general knowledge of most building maintenance and repair tasks including but not limited to painting, dry wall repair, appliance repair, assembling furniture, changing light bulbs, and ballasts in light fixtures, basic plumbing, basic electrical and other miscellaneous duties. The individual selected must also be capable of driving a View Point Health vehicle and must have a clean driving record.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance or construction of state buildings and related structures. Installs and maintains security, climate control and other facilities systems.
On call for assigned locations for maintenance emergencies after hoursOn call biweekly for companywide maintenance emergencies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Most building maintenance and repair tasks including but not limited to painting dry wall repair, appliance repair, assembling furniture, changing lightbulbs and ballasts in light fixtures.Basic PlumbingBasic ElectricalPreventative Maintenance checksCapable of driving a View Point Health vehicle.Notify Senior Facility Manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.Requisition supplies and equipment needed for maintenance duties.Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment OR One year of experience at the lower-level General Trades Tech 1 (FET030) or position equivalent.
Note: Some positions may require area specific certifications/licenses.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of job-related experience working as a Maintenance Tech.Solid experience performing building maintenance duties.
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.Requires you to be physically able to reach, bend, stoop, raise your arms over your head, balance on ladder and sit or stand for long periods of time. Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.Other duties as assigned.
