Federal Affairs Program Manager (Finance)
The Federal Affairs Program Manager position resides within the Nemours National Office of Policy and Prevention's Federal Affairs team and reports to the Senior Advisor, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs. The position's main focus will be leading advocacy efforts in designated areas to advance Nemours' mission of helping to create the healthiest generations of children. The position is part of a very collaborative, fast-paced team and must be comfortable working closely and cooperatively with team members to achieve common goals and advance new projects, often on an urgent basis. Specific responsibilities, all under the direction of the Senior Advisor, include: engaging and lobbying policymakers to advance Nemours' federal agenda and appropriations portfolio, including leading and/or supporting several lobby days, congressional site visits, and other advocacy-related events; developing advocacy collateral; analyzing and providing recommendations on legislative proposals and drafting legislative language; supporting the office's regulatory portfolio; engaging in strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and drafting communications to amplify Nemours' federal policy agenda.
This position requires deep understanding and experience with the federal legislative and regulatory process (including the annual appropriations process). This position also requires excellent research, writing, analysis, editing and communication skills. The position also requires flexibility and the ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, think strategically, synthesize information into persuasive policy arguments, and work with multiple internal and external partners to achieve a shared vision and goals for complex projects. The position will require strategic planning, organizational and implementation skills, ability to communicate across a range of audiences and to lead meetings, and experience in project management.
