Gardening Crew Leader (Maintenance)

This professional Gardening Crew Leader position will lead a team atmosphere in which we care for residential gardens through Deb's Gardening at Timberline Landscaping. This position is a full-time position directly responsible for managing daily field operations with the gardening crew. The crew leader position is also responsible for overall property maintenance, accurate record keeping, submittal of daily paperwork and accurate cost accounting of daily labor. This position requires the ability to handle complex jobs, specialty equipment and at times, demanding clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for training of laborers on crew
Moniter crew performance
Must be able to supervise up to 6 employees and carry out instructions given by the Account Manager
Listening skills with crew and customers are critical
Must be punctual, responsible and have a positive attitude
Must be self-driven and reliable
Hold creative, pro-active problem-solving skills
Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to inspire others to their full potential
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Gardeners spend most of their working hours outside in all temperatures and weather conditions
The position requires bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, kneeling, twisting, walking, lifting, squatting, shifting, digging, hauling, and ability to move and/or lift over 50 lbs. (use of lifting equipment or 2-person lift over 50lbs.)
A gardener weeds, prunes, rakes, deadheads, and has their hands in the soil
Gardeners should be comfortable with and have physical and manual dexterity to operate hand tools and should be comfortable working with digging equipment/tools
Occasional exposure to dust and chemical vapors PPE is provided
Traveling back and forth to job sites
Provide tools and equipment to crews as needed
