What you will do
The Maintenance Planner is a critical role within the maintenance organization that, manages, creates, updates, assisting with the maintenance planning strategy to ensure effective and optimal use of maintenance budgets; developing standards/procedures for maintaining assets; conducting improvement analyses; reviewing maintenance planning strategies and monitoring performance data; and organizing and reviewing the department's day-to-day maintenance work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager with the collaboration of the maintenance team leaders, operations team leaders, operations planners and quality. The maintenance planner is to ensure safe and quality work execution through clear Work Order development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Understand and analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Understand the importance of Preventative (PM) and (CAL) tasks, execute in a timely manner, and own improvements to the PM system.
• Understand preventative, predictive, and conditions-based maintenance methodology. Evaluates equipment performance criteria (for condition monitoring and failure analysis) to assess equipment condition and ensure that preventative maintenance is being performed at the correct intervals.
• Provides guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on how to apply maintenance procedures, policies, and standards to specific situations.
• Responsible for writing INV's for Maintenance and creating CAPA's to resolve issues.
• Provide support to other Team Leaders with Training and Payroll.
• Work with contractors and vendors to keep track of performance requirements including fiduciary, quality, safety, and environmental to meet schedule needs.
• Responsible for partnering with operations, functional and management personnel to develop and implement methods and processes that optimize the maintenance process.
• Organizes and reviews the day-to-day operations of maintenance work.
• Responsible for working with Planning to reserve time on their Production schedule for PMs/CALs/CMs
• Facilitate the weekly, monthly scheduling and reliability meetings.
• Prepare a draft schedule on only ready to schedule work orders.
• Update scheduled based on execution of production schedule and adjust maintenance activities accordingly.
• Forecast work schedules at least three months in advance that is aligned with the operations schedule.
• Work with operations to identify equipment availability.
• Update and maintain KPI reporting for Maintenance Planning & Scheduling attainment.
• Coach and mentor Maintenance Planners across business units.
• Create OOT reports (out of tolerance) for any calibrated equipment not within specifications and submit to Quality for approval.
• Maintains CMMS database system codes and asset information and manages and optimizes inventory and spare parts requirements as they pertain to preventive and planned maintenance tasks.
• Analyzes maintenance and asset performance data in the development of targeted maintenance and lifecycle replacement strategies.
• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly and other reports.
• Leads cross functional team for all shutdowns, major rehabilitation planning activities, quality project or as needed to support operations and maintenance.
• Participates in the planning of renewals and related projects, example plan annual maintenance shutdowns.
• Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
• Education: Vocational, Certificate, Technical or associate degree
• A minimum of 4 year's total experience required.
• Strong analytical skills are required.
• Excellent technical writing skills are required.
• Proficiency with MS Office is required.
• Flexibility in work hours is required (must be available to work outside normal working hours or return to the site based on demand / business needs).
Desired Qualifications
• University/Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in a regulated environment is preferred.
• Experience leading technical maintenance teams preferred.
• A minimum of three (3) years of maintenance planning experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare manufacturing environment preferred.
