Machine Operator-Doors (1st Shift: 7am to 7:30pm) (Finance)
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, sanding cabinet parts, making the necessary adjustments for the different materials, and performing preventive maintenance and housekeeping.
Responsible for communicating with the Supervisor, Lead person, and Gatekeeper on daily schedules, and priorities such as rush orders, samples, remakes, etc.
Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily per training authorizations. Notify Supervisor or Lead person of machine breakdowns and continuous rejects or quality issues.
Responsible for completing the daily scheduled work and the quality of the processed parts.
Responsible for all documentation of preventive maintenance, quality control, downtime, and production quantities.
Notify Supervisor or Lead person to order raw materials as needed.
Must be able to set up the machine for optimum performance and make adjustments as needed.
Responsible for leading by example in regard to PPE requirements, to have punctual attendance and breaks, and to "Drive" compliance in all areas.
Perform and maintain good housekeeping practices along with the 5S standards.
Additional duties as assigned by Dept. Supervisor or Lead person.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have basic ability for reading and writing, perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape.
Must be able to identify various colors.
Previous experience with basic computer skills but will train.
Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and problem solving.
Detail oriented.
Education and/or Experience
2-3 years experience.
Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of education.
Machine experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
Factory environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
