Industrial Sewing Operator (Manufacturing)

We offer a quiet, clean and organized work environment. This shift is Monday to Thursday from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. located at 901 E Madison St. Goshen, Indiana.
POSITION STATEMENT:
The Industrial Sewing Operator will be able to efficiently construct needed products in a skilled manner. In the completion of these duties, he or she will provide a necessary link between efficient use of time, materials, and skills in constructing quality products for customers of Wieland Designs, Inc.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative and Business Skills:
Understand and apply customer (internal and external) quality expectations.
Understand the Hour-By-Hour Chart cell performance chart.
Basic understanding of a One Piece Pull system verses a Batch and Push system.
Technical Skills:
Understand and apply Wieland Designs Production Systems (WDPS) terms such as Takt Time, Operator Cycle Time, Standard Work, etc.
Interpret information from the Hour-By-Hour chart and make proper adjustments to work within the cell.
Properly operate industrial sewing machines according to company requirements and standards.
Interpersonal Skills:
Demonstrate ability to cross-train to multiple products.
Ability to cross-train in multiple processes within the sewing cells.
Demonstrate ability to work within a sewing cell.
