Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Supervisor for the Disbursements department, you are responsible for managing the team that completes all disbursements-related work that is assigned by the Senior Manager, Disbursements or the Client Services, including but not limited to the following:
Ensures, along with Client Services managers, that contracted client services for settlement disbursements are accomplished to the client's satisfaction.
Reviews case court documents and client communications, reviews Disbursement Disclosure Letter and check stub prepared by Client Services managers.
Establishes federal and, where applicable, state tax identification numbers for Qualified Settlement Funds.
Promptly responds to notices and correspondence from federal and state tax authorities, including manual preparation of payroll tax returns when required.
Coordinates with our tax advisors, payroll vendors, and the applicable individual states for wage cases processing.
Ensures a smooth flow of communication between applicable departments and the Disbursements team.
Coordinates check production process including but not limited to adherence to quality controls, risk mitigation and following standard operating procedures
Researches transactions, issues, and exceptions as needed. Resolves problems quickly and efficiently.
Reviews and updates team processes and procedures as applicable.
Records, on a daily basis, time worked on all matters using SAP or any other time recording program selected by the company and approve the time entries made by the team members

Experience & Skills Required
Experience leading a team in a process driven environment
Strong excel skills – minimum of intermediate level
Accounting and banking – experience and knowledge of basic accounting and banking principles
