Azure DevOps Engineer (Project Management)

We are seeking experienced Azure DevOps Engineers to help modernize and enhance an existing enterprise system that connects healthcare providers directly with millions of US veterans seeking clinical care. Our DevOps Engineers will work within an Agile environment and collaborate with other developers, product owners, test engineers, and architects. Our DevOps Engineers will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying high quality business solutions on the Azure platform based on industry best practices. Our ideal teammate would leverage their extensive experience to provide consultative guidance regarding how our clients might adopt new technologies or add new features to meet their business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and deploy cloud applications and services on the Microsoft Azure platform.
· Enterprise level application design, engineering and development using .NET Core, C#, Azure DevOps, and Azure PaaS.
· Design scalable, reliable, and secure solutions using Azure services like App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Storage.
· Implement core REST + JSON based APIs.
· Work with team members to properly define/clarify business requirements, development estimation, and work plan finalization.
· Perform unit and integration testing on all developed code – Create and execute unit and integration tests within development lifecycle.
· Assist other teams with troubleshooting problems that may arise from applications or integration of various components.
· Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
· Experience with system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
· Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools.
· Excellent communication skills to lead design meetings, tech breakdowns, and high-level architectural discussions.
· Ability to ask probing questions and identify edge cases during discussions.
· Proactive problem-solving mindset to remove blockers and address technical challenges.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· A minimum of 3+ years of experience in cloud development, specifically with Microsoft Azure.
· Strong experience with Azure services like App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Storage.
· Experience working with APIs and databases.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
· Experience with Cloud Technologies (like Azure / AWS), .NET Core, RESTful services.
· Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
· Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
· Understanding and ability to work within Agile project delivery frameworks and methodologies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
· Experience working with Federal agencies is a plus.
· Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
· Azure certifications: Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
