Infusion RN (Education)
FTE: Full time, 1.0 FTE
Location: Primary locations Bloomington and Lake Elmo/Woodbury. Training will occur at all locations (Blaine, Bloomington and Lake Elmo).
Hours: 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, 6:30a-4:30p or 7a-5p, no evenings, no weekends, 40 hours per week
Other requirements include:
Minimum two years direct patient care in a medical/surgical clinical settingSkills necessary for PIV placement and administration of infusion therapies preferredKnowledge of technologies associated with infusion therapies highly recommendedKnowledge of infusion medication pharmacology, indications and contraindications highly recommendedMinimum one-year experience in infusion therapy delivery to patients preferredObtain Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurses (MSCN) certification within 3 years of employmentExcellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitudeAbility to multi-task
Duties include:
Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapyAdminister immunoglobulin, Depacon, Solu-Medrol, Tysabri, Ocrevus, Tepezzaand other infusion therapiesAssess and monitor patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventionsCommunicate patient status to medical personnel as neededAdminister pre-intra-post procedure medicationsElectronic Medical chart documentation in and specialized infusion software system. Provide open line of communication with infusion nursing team and nursing management, as well as other team members, Medical Director, MDC Director, physicians, and staffCoordinate effective handling of emergencies arising from infusion and IV contrastAbility to work in a team environment, as well as independently in our infusion suite.
