Textile Engineer Technician I- 2nd Shift 1 (Finance)

The Textile Engineering Technician I will provide technical manufacturing support for new product development /trials, online training of new personnel in textile processes. They will also foster an environment continuous improvement to develop more robust procedures and improvements within existing processes. The position will be located at our site in Ave Maria, FL. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical input on manufacturing techniques that could be used to produce new products.
Execute requests for new product development trials utilizing manufacturing teams and processes.
Train existing manufacturing team members to textile products and processes.
Assist Engineering as directed in tasks needed to be executed to start new manufacturing codes. Understanding of BOM's and Routings would be beneficial.
Establish a process to support orientation and training of new team members on textile processing techniques to ensure comprehension of the task along with the ability to perform the task.
Review existing procedure and improve where necessary.
Develop and maintain training / flexibility matrices to track and identify who is trained vs. certified on tasks.
Possesses the ability to effectively communicate to all operational groups including manufacturing, quality personnel, and supervisors as it relates to ideas, questions, and concerns.
Work with Engineering on the continuous improvement of assembly processes.
Identify opportunities to improve process robustness to reduce scrap and increase efficiency.
Follow the quality system requirements to ensure quality is at the forefront in the production of medical devices. Training & enforcement of GMP practices, line setups and clearances and ensuring correct documentation is followed.
Notify Supervisor of any training issues as they arise.
Support all aspects of visual factory, and continuous improvement. Support all aspects of the operations by producing signs and labels, floor markings, and any other activities that support GMP and continuous improvement.

Education/Experience:
HS diploma or equivalent required
Experience in medical device or manufacturing preferred
Experience with engineering specification documents and conventions preferred
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Effectively communicate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing concerning required tasks and projects.
Able to learn new details on products, processes, engineering concepts, and systems as they relate to engineering change orders, manufacturing processes, and product design.
Able to learn and understand best practices for processes, products, and procedures.
Basic knowledge of suture assembly processing equipment preferred.
Knowledge of MS Office required.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
