ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The USF Health Heart Institute operates under the auspices of the Morsani College of Medicine and its members collaborate widely with faculty from other USF colleges including Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and the Moffitt Comprehensive Cancer Center. The USF Health Heart Institute is a new state-of-the-art facility housing multiple floors of clinical and laboratory space, state-of-the-art small imaging facilities, and other outstanding core facilities, including a vivarium fully outfitted for small animal husbandry and zebrafish.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine and the USF Health Heart Institute at the University of South Florida are seeking a Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician for a full-time position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Appointment to the rank of Associate Professor requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant Professor or equivalent. This is a full-time 12 month salaried faculty apoointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institutution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. For Associate Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed or other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that the candidate possess 1-2 NIH or equivalent grants. PhD with prior experience of research in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. USF is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service.
