Manager, Sales Customer Marketing (Finance)
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Customer Marketing Manager reports directly to the Sr. Director of Customer Marketing and will own the business class of trade strategy and execution, leading customer and channel specific business initiatives. The role is customer-centric first, incorporating customer and shopper insights into multiple SCJ business processes including S&OP and IGP. The role leads channel problems to solve for the national omnichannel brief while translating national brand strategies into customized channel DMPP strategies.
The Customer Marketing Manager serves as the critical partner to field sales, supporting the creation of commercial plans inclusive of distribution, display and execution strategies. Further, it supports and consults marketing commercialization's creation of national growth narratives, translating into simplified and most impactful form.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Clearly identify Growth Opportunities and Problems to Solve, develop selling material and assets by COT required to win in the market that are consistent with Sales and Marketing
• Lead continued development & growth of those channels in the US, working directly with account teams to build commercial plans, create customized omnichannel plans, and identify new Big Bets
• Interact and work with marketing managers and cross functional teams to deliver category business objectives
• Develop and execute customized selling narratives for product launches, pricing actions, and strategic activation programs, especially tailored to above noted classes of trade
• Understand and proactively seek learnings on consumer and shopper insights that drive customer priorities. Leverage analysis and make conclusions/recommendations to support customer initiatives and priorities
• Deliver class of trade insights in Step 2 of the S&OP processes leveraging holistic understanding of account plans and priorities with implications for commercial P&L, supply, and execution
• Interact and work with Customer Market Team, brand managers and cross-functional teams to deliver divisional business objectives
• Support Partners with key field business teams with business planning, brand interaction, and top to top meetings
• Participate in customer calls to provide support to the field, provide national perspective. and gain insights to use in strategic and tactical planning
• Provide recommendations to sales management and brand management on appropriate direction for sales execution of DMPPR strategies, tactics, and goals on assigned areas
• Define and support the creation of Special packs and programs
• Disseminate competitive intelligence
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
• Bachelor's degree in related field with 7+ years of relevant work experience or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
• Exceptional computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• SCJ Data Tools (PlanIt TCM, Nielsen)
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Experience with Sales (Target, Walmart or large Food Account) and/or Marketing (brand or commercialization)
• Prior experience developing sales kits/tools (including POS materials) for both base business, promotional and account-specific products
• Prior experience in an analytical role
• High degree of initiative and sense of urgency
• Ability to manage across functions in SCJ organization to deliver results
• Work efficiently and commitment to quality
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Full-time onsite role in West Loop, Chicago office
• Up to 25% travel
• Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
• This role is eligible for domestic relocation
