Forklift Operator (Finance)

Starting Rate: $19.75 ($2.00 Shift Differential for 2 nd /3 rd shift)

Work Hours: 3 Shift Rotation Schedule (rotates every 6 weeks); 7AM-3PM; 3PM-11PM; 11PM-7AM, Weekends as required

As a Forklift Operator, you will:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating lifting devices, including forklifts, clamps, and trailer hitches, to efficiently push, lift, stack, tier, and remove materials within the manufacturing facility. This role is essential in ensuring the timely and safe movement of materials to support production operations. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Operate forklifts and other lifting devices to move raw materials, finished products, and supplies to designated areas within the manufacturing facility.

• Safely load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and storage locations, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.

• Stack and tier materials in storage areas, following established safety protocols and maintaining organization in the warehouse.

• Assist in inventory control by recording material movements and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.

• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating forklift equipment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Conduct pre-operation safety checks and perform basic maintenance on forklifts and lifting devices to ensure optimal performance.

• Work closely with team members, including warehouse staff and production personnel, to ensure smooth operations and address any logistical challenges.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and retain Forklift Operator License through Lakeside Book Company.
• Previous experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
• Prior Forklift or Roll Clamp experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices in material handling.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Internal Eligibility Requirements:

• Most recent performance rating must be "meeting expectations" or above.
• Meet the minimum qualifications as stated in the job posting.
• Must be in good standing (i.e. not at the Final Warning or Performance Improvement Plan step in Positive Counseling).
