Summary of Position:
The Machine Operator II, works safely and operates and maintains at least one machine and/or multiple machines ensuring it is running efficiently. The person in this position also tracks performance data and communicates exceptions.
Functions of the Position: % of Time Essential/ Marginal
· Sets up machine- loading, dies, films, settings and monitors to
make sure it is running efficiently. 50% Essential
· Monitors and assists with equipment upstream/downstream to
ensure continuous operation. 10% Essential
· Follows work order, quality control and sanitation procedures
concerning weights, packs, descriptions, code dates, cleanup
and changeovers. 10% Essential
· Directs/instructs machine line personnel in specific job duties. 5% Essential
· Performs pre-operational, quality control and material waste
checks. 5% Essential
· Maintains and exceeds production, quality and safety
standards. 5% Essential
· Provides training to Machine Operator I. 5% Essential
· Loads product into hopper. 5% Marginal
· Cleans machine properly after production runs or changeovers.
Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area. 5% Marginal
· Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe
and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices,
allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and
regulatory requirements.
· Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls
necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
· Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to
management.
· Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and
information within assigned team and across functional areas.
· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as
professional and leadership development.
· Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established
for health and workplace safety.
· Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors,
reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned. Continually

Qualifications
· Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
o Experience as a machine operator.
· Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
o Level I power equipment license (JBSS)
· Skills and Competencies:
o Basic problem recognition and resolution on the line being operated.
o Mechanical, electrical, and analytical abilities.
o Basic computer literacy (to understand QAD and scanners).
o Capable of managing multiple priorities.
o Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
o Ability to speak and read English.
o Basic math skills.
o Good manual dexterity, vision and mobility.
Job Specific Requirements:
This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
In the event that the Machine Operator II is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
