Multimedia Specialist - College of Optometry (Finance)
1. Provides web design and maintenance support for a department or unit including creating interactive media and interface designs.
2. Researches and develops themes and content ideas for online and print publications including conducting interviews, writing, editing, and publishing articles for various multimedia formats for instruction, Internet, news releases, recruiting, and marketing initiatives.
3. Provides photographic services to produce materials integrated across a variety of multimedia formats.
4. Provides videography services including motion graphic rending and audio/video conversion and editing.
5. Uses advanced multimedia software applications to create and publish graphic designs in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.
6. Develops and maintains content distribution networks through social media channels including content for feeds and snippets in various social media sites.
7. Researches and recommends new media technologies to advance program initiatives. Coordinates with faculty, staff, and external clients on media-related projects.
8. Creates and maintains a digital library of photographs, video, graphic designs, and program collateral.
9. Maintains all media related equipment, facilities, and supplies.
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledge of web content management systems (CMS) such as Modern Campus and HTML/CSS. Experience with video production, editing, and motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects).
•Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
•Skilled in high-quality photography, including event, portrait, and promotional shoots, with strong photo editing abilities.
Knowledge of multimedia content creation for social media, digital marketing, and website use.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
