About the Role
This position involves all aspects of Field Operations including but not limited to Service, Repair, Construction and Modernization. By supporting MEI's Strategic Winning Aspiration and executing the documented strategy in Field Operations, this position will ensure a safe, enjoyable work environment, provide great customer experiences, and deliver targeted profitable growth.

Essential Responsibilities
· Place the utmost importance on the safety and wellbeing of all employees under your supervision
· Adopt and support MEI's "Strategic Winning Aspirations" and Field Operations Strategy
· Actively participate, lead, coordinate and manage and train (when necessary) crews and service technicians in the most efficient manner to complete jobs and service stops within allotted time
· When contracts require, meet with owners, contractors and/ or architects
· Field calls from jobsites and service accounts - Mechanics, inspectors, and sub-contractors
· Support sales staff in estimating, investigating, and resolving customer issues
· Responsible for monitoring and approving field personnel timecards, service tickets, and other Cloud based field reporting tools
· Assist field employees in service troubleshooting (high level only) and solving repair/mod/new construction problems
· Coordinate any training requests for field mechanics through Branch Manager
· Support MEI's continued focus on quality and innovation by working closely with R&D, Product Support and Engineering
· Maintain tool and equipment inventory through use of asset tags and inventory management spreadsheet. Use inventory spreadsheet to track safety inspections on necessary equipment (hoisting, rigging, etc.)
· Ensure field mechanics comply with required safety training and participate in all improvement and cost savings initiatives
· Maintain shop in a clean, safe, and organized environment
· Occasionally travel outside territory to assist and collaborate with other branches of Field Ops
· Continuously seek to maintain an "error-free" status on all projects to enhance satisfaction and profitability
· Actively participate in the MEI I-Power and Continuous Improvement Programs, attend weekly meetings, and submit ideas to innovate and optimize MEI products and service
· Continuously assess talent and ability of mechanics and apprentices on jobsites
· Participate in self-development activities to enhance job performance either through formal means (classes, workshops, seminars etc.) or less structured means (reading, networking etc.)
· Other duties as required or assigned by your supervisor
Essential Position Responsibilities (Service):
· Understand and be aware of individual service account profitability. Specifically, Field Supervisor to manage hours on service (estimated vs. actual). Reorganize routes as necessary for optimum efficiency
· Complete and/or assist with all full maintenance and large service contract bids and site surveys as needed.
· Complete field audits on service routes
· When necessary, field customer trouble calls and dispatch necessary service personnel
· Log, track, and follow up on all Trouble Calls daily on Cloud
Essential Position Responsibilities (Repair, Con/Mod):
· Complete and/or assist with surveys as needed to ensure proper equipment is ordered for project
· Monitor job schedule, start dates, material shipments in cooperation with the customer and on-site contractors.
· Manage each repair, modernization, and new construction job according to labor requirements
· Apply for or assist in applying for all necessary permits
· Work with crews to establish and enforce contingency plan if job is behind schedule
· Create and maintain the schedule for crews, making modifications to manpower pool based on backlog
· Schedule state/city inspections for all permitted elevator repairs
· Coordinate any related work with contractor and on-site contact for project
· Work with Sales Team on material lists and site logistics for work to be completed.
· Make job-site decisions regarding material and/or labor requirements to complete the job while keeping the account manager informed.
· Participate with Accounting Department in monthly revenue recognition meetings

Experience
· Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Education/Experience: 4-year degree with at least 5 years demonstrated management experience or elevator mechanic license with at least 5 years of field experience.
· OSHA 30 certificate, or plan to obtain OSHA 30 certificate within 6 months of hire
· Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
· Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Other Skills and Abilities:
· Must be well organized, a self-starter and able to work independently.
· Must be able to professionally interact and communicate with co-workers, vendors and customers.
· Must be PC literate, able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Must be able to read and correctly interpret architectural plans, specifications and takeoffs.
· Must have good mechanical aptitude for making mechanical operation and equipment choices including "value engineering" decision making.

Physical Demands
Position requires approximately 50% sitting and 50% walking. The ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel is required. Position requires the ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch on an occasional basis. Also, the position requires the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words on a consistent basis. Also, the position requires clear vision at 20 inches or less, clear vision at 20 feet or more, the ability to identify and distinguish colors, the ability to observe and area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds on occasional basis is required. Job holder is exposed to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat on an occasional basis. Position is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and there is risk of potential electrical shock. Position is exposed to moderate noise.
