Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Resilience Water Construction Management Team based in Atlanta, Georgia! This position primarily involves field work and will support our water resource projects in the state of Georgia. We are looking for inspectors with construction knowledge in drainage and stormwater management post-construction best management practices.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our local team while receiving support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. The Construction Inspector will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge for construction inspection of drainage systems; stormwater management/treatment structures/devices; and performing documentation of observations and communications.
The Inspector will report to a Construction Manager and the Atlanta office but will primarily be field assigned to the inspection duties at multiple concurrent locations.
Role accountabilities:
As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for observing and inspecting drainage and stormwater management/treatment construction work carried out by contractors. You will familiarize yourself with drawings, specifications, other technical documents, and contractor schedules to perform the work. Additionally, you will prepare detailed daily reports of inspection observations and communications with the project teams. These reports will include, but not be limited to, meetings attended, photographs, descriptions of deficiencies observed, and follow-up actions to be taken.
Your role will also involve maintaining quality assurance requirements. In inspecting and identifying deviations from general compliance with contract documents, you will professionally communicate any observed issues and required corrections to the project team including the contractor.
Participating in the various construction project coordination meetings is essential along with attendance in regular internal Arcadis meetings.
As a Construction Inspector, you will perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspection activities and ensure that Arcadis' project safety guidelines are strictly adhered to while conducting daily inspections. Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

7-10 years of construction inspection experience in stormwater construction projects.
Key Skills and Attributes:
This job requires experience with construction inspection activities, preferably with an understanding of post-construction stormwater best management practices for water quality control. The ideal candidate should have proven ability to read and interpret Georgia DOT construction drawings, specifications, and construction policies/procedures. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, showcasing the ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data effectively. You should demonstrate proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to problems, paired with a high level of math aptitude.
Additionally, the role calls for the ability to juggle multiple priorities, showcasing solid time management skills. Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint, and Outlook, is essential. The position entails working year-round in various weather conditions, potentially hazardous environments, and varying shift hours. Candidates must also be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $70,800 - $106,200/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
