Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for the evaluation and progression of
treatment of patients of all ages and abilities suffering from injuries or
illnesses affecting physical functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Point of contact for school based programs and contact for services within
those contracts. Effective at building positive referral relationships with the coaches, program and physician offices through timely communication with all parties.
Administers concussion protocol for school athletes including identification of signs/symptoms including effective communication with player, coaches, parents, nurses, and physicians. This includes return-to-play criteria set by the state athletic association.
Identifies which athletic injuries are appropriate for physical therapy referral
Documentation of treatment and communication to ensure excellent outcomes for that patient population
Reviews physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and
Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory
Understand the unique features, rules, and regulations, of the Workers
Understand Doctors of Physical Therapy's lines of service, how to perform
Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of
Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical
Administers treatments involving application of physical agents, using
Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to
Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and
Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at
Completes all required patient documentation, charging and
Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient
Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on

Complete required company orientation

Punctual and dependent for assigned shifts
Working Conditions
Evening and weekend work may be required in order to fit patient
schedules. The job is physically demanding. Athletic Trainers are
required to stand for long periods of time. They spend considerable time
stooping, kneeling, bending and crouching. ATCs move heavy
equipment. They assist with patient transfers and lifts or help them turn,
stand or walk. Must follow proper body mechanics and procedures for lifting/moving patients.
