Machine Operator I's are assigned to various pieces of equipment within the department as dictated by manufacturing needs. Machine Operator I's should be trained to work on at least one, but possibly more, of the following machines: GeCam, Break Press, Aida (entry level knowledge). For operational flexibility, the ability to become cross-trained and to rotate jobs is essential.
Responsibilities Include:
Participate in problem solving as directed and recommend ideas for continual improvement.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Attend and constructively participate in safety meetings and safety training
Actively promote safety and wear proper PPE
Report injuries to supervisor immediately
Cooperate with fellow employees and supervisor
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other work groups, both within and outside of his/her department
Help other coworkers learn their job
Keep area clean and free from excess clutter to ensure a smooth operation and desirable work conditions
Understanding and demonstrated performance in managing component parts associated with the job including accounting for use, scrap, rework of material as well as identification, proper storage and care
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for Internal Candidates:
One-year of previous experience in a sheet metal or machine shop environment preferred
Good work record in previous employment
Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions read and follow prints and routers
The ability to understand quality requirements and to monitor production
Possess basic math skills
Ability to safely and effectively operator various pieces of equipment
Ability to learn new operations, become cross-trained, and rotate jobs
Must have not have above 3.5 attendance points
