Infection Control/Staff Development Coordinator (Healthcare)
KEY POSITION SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILTIES
· Arranges all mandatory in-services for all departments annually.
· Determines the training needs of the nursing department and develops training and education.
· Develops annual training calendar.
· As requested will assist with individual departmental training.
· Assists with development of new procedures and policies with direction from the Director of Nursing.
· Develops orientation program for all new hires.
· Works with probationary staff to assist with job development.
· Audits systems to monitor compliance with regulations
· Communicates collaboratively with other members of the clinical interdisciplinary team, physicians, consultants, to obtain information and assistance in training needs.
· Develops and monitors infection control standards ~ educate staff on the standards.
· Ensures that safety and infection control practices are followed by all staff throughout the shift.
· Assists with investigations of all member concerns and incidents and identifies root cause(s) in a timely and complete manner; implement intervention to safeguard the member; completes required documentation; and reports incidents in accordance with regulations and standards of practice.
· Completes all records and reports as requested and in accordance with facility policy and practice standards.
· Provides information to the quality council according to facility standards.
· Assists with the hiring of new employees in the nursing department.
· Actively involved in nursing leadership team
· Serves on facility committees, councils and teams as assigned.
· Participates in the interview and hiring of unit staff as directed by the Human Resource Director.
· Orients and coaches staff in accordance with human resource policies and processes.
· Participates and assists with orientation, ongoing educations of nursing personnel to meet member care needs and ensures compliance with professional standards and regulatory compliance.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Successful completion of a Registered Nursing (R.N.) from an accredited nursing program.
Experience
· Previous experience as an R.N. in long-term care preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
· Must have and maintain an active state R.N. license / registration in good standing on the state registry.
· CPR certified.
Availability & Attendance
· Follows all attendance policies and procedures, including punctuality.
Other
· Compliance with infectious disease policies and procedures related to, but not limited to tuberculosis screening of health-care workers.

Salary: $42.00 - $46.39 per Hour*
