POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Research Associate supports the clinical trials mission of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the Morsani College of Medicine. This position performs wide range of clinical research functions including overseeing the screening and enrollment of participants, regulatory filing and study file maintenance; data collection, data analysis and administration of scales, screening and questionnaires.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules study visits and research procedures for study participants; Conducts study visits according to research protocols; Presents and obtains Informed Consent from participants per study protocols; Initiates and maintains essential study documents and regulatory binders according to sponsor and Federal regulations; Performs timely IRB submissions; Reports adverse events and maintains all reporting logs.
Reviews and prescreens candidates for study enrollment; develops and initiates recruitment campaign to enroll subjects; Administers study assessments, scales and questionnaires to study participants as needed.
Performs venipuncture (blood draws) as needed; Processes and prepares blood samples for transport to external laboratories according to study protocols; Performs ECG and VS; Maintains inventory of laboratory kits and supplies; maintains Investigational Product.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and one year of professional experience; or Master's degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.
SB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly related experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly related experience may substitute for a master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Experience working with research studies and Institutional Review Boards; Knowledge of research regulatory document requirements; Experience performing phlebotomy.
