Payroll Coordinator (Administrative)
PAYROLL COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to process timely and accurate payroll for Gulfeagle Supply. Perform duties as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of payroll and all related functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Payroll Responsible for multi-state company payroll for over 1300 employees using Ceridian Dayforce. Ensure timely processing of bi-weekly payroll. Update employee maintenance, salary changes, and employment status changes. Special checks processing as needed.
Payroll Taxes Responsible for payroll taxes and taxability of wages review and corrections.
Reconciliation Reconcile the payroll before being processed to ensure the accuracy of the payroll. Work with accounting to remedy any general ledger issues related to the payroll accounts.
Time & Attendance Processing of weekly & bi-weekly timesheets for payroll which may be a shared responsibly based on volume.
Wage Attachments Process and monitor bi-weekly wage attachment orders. Plus respond to incoming wage attachments in a timely matter.
Payroll Records Maintain and document all payroll records.
General Respond to general payroll inquiries with a high level of customer Inquiries service including employee phone calls and emails.
Year End – Complete all year end tasks in a timely manner to ensure the year is closed and all documentation is processed.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports directly to Human Resources Manager
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong payroll and accounting background. Well organized person with strong administrative and good interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task workload.
Education and Experience:
1. Education equivalent to completion of the 12th grade.
2. A minimum of four (4) years' experience in payroll with two (2) years' multi-state.
3. Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce a plus.
4. Knowledge of Excel is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Basic elements of English language usage, spelling, and arithmetic.
2. Must have attention to detail and high level of accuracy
3. Ability to utilize Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word & Outlook.
4. Knowledge of office methods, practices, and procedures, and ability to make mathematical calculations.
5. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
6. Ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions.
7. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships as part of a team effort with those contacted in the performance of duties, to include all other employees and customers.
