Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a General Manager to join our team located in the Desert Mountain Sub-Region. This role is responsible for the profitability and growth of the business as well as the creation and management of sales strategies that result in the accomplishment of business objectives. Products cover a broad range of industrial, medical gases and hardgoods as well as a broad spectrum of customers. The position has P&L accountability for approximately $195M in sales and approximately 330 employees. Responsibilities - Defines elements of regional business strategy within area of responsibility. - Manage sales professionals, directs sales activities, sets key performance indicators for sales force and reviews performance against such indicators. - Sets group goals for profitable growth, including reviewing account plans/sales reports and working with cost-to-serve models. - Monitors sales plans to ensure compliance with short- and long-term goals, pricing strategies and contracts. - Validates business opportunities and assists the sales organization in identifying business alternatives, in preparation of proposals and in contract negotiation. - Clear understanding of competitive market environment to adjust strategy and changes in the economy. - Review of gains and losses and understanding of P&L for monthly reporting to senior level management. - Coordinates with retail locations and plant operations to ensure customer needs are met while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. - Performs customer site visits and handles issues that are high impact and/or are elevated for resolution. - Other duties as assigned. Requirements - Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant job experience required. - 10-15 years management experience required. - 5-10 years direct selling experience preferred. - Communicates effectively with all levels of an organization. - Drives engagement, vision & purpose. - Ability to collaborate and build partnerships. - Action oriented, resourceful, ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders. - Ability to travel a minimum of 50% Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2024 sales of $33 billion.
